Hello!

Welcome to my teacher website! My name is Deidre Sequeira*, and I am the 6th grade Reading and Writing teacher at Kitty Hawk Middle School. This is my fourth year teaching (and my eighth year in education, total), but it's my first year with 野花社区视频 ISD. I'm so very excited to join the JISD family, and I cannot wait to get to know my students and their families throughout the year. 

Here's a little bit of information about me! I'm 27 years old, and I've lived in San Antonio since I was 16. Prior to that, I lived and attended school in the Texas Hill Country and in the Bay Area of California. I graduated from both San Antonio College (2016) and Texas A&M University - San Antonio (2019).

I've always wanted to teach, and thus I consider myself so incredibly honored to be in education and to be able to share my deep love of the written word with my students. Reading and writing aren't just what I teach; they're my passions. In fact, outside of the classroom, I'm also a published YA author and have worked in editing and publishing since I was 18. Literacy is so ingrained in my everyday life, and I cannot imagine a better way to spend my time than teaching students that words can provide them with the tools to communicate their thoughts, opinions, and emotions and allow them to find new worlds to explore and fall in love with.
