Hello 1st Grade families!!!

My name is Rebecca Roberts and I am your wonderful child's 1st grade teacher at Wortham Oaks Elementary School this year.  YAY!! 

This is my 16th year of teaching overall.  I began my career in Corpus Christi ISD as a Kindergarten teacher and was there for five years.  Then, I moved back home to San Antonio and taught for 10 years at Woodlake Elementary School in JISD, before moving to Wortham Oaks. This year will be my first year at Wortham Oaks and I am extremely excited to be a part of the Wildcat family!

I taught Kindergarten for a total of 11 years and then spent four years as a Pre-K4 teacher.  This will be my first year teaching 1st grade and I am really looking forward to getting to know all of you and your sweet kiddos. 

I graduated from MacArthur High School in NEISD in 2003 and received my bachelor's degree from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2007.  

During the 2021-2022 school year, I had the amazing honor of being named as Woodlake Elementary's teacher of the year as well as being named as the JISD Elementary teacher of the year.  I also received the KENS 5 Excel Teacher award for JISD as well as the Trinity Award for Education for all of JISD.
