Hello, I am Mrs. Igiehon, Academic Trainer/ RTI Math Teacher here at 野花社区视频 Middle School. Here is a little about me.

Education…I am a native San Antonian, a graduate of Sam Houston HS. After graduating high school, I attended San Antonio College, then transferred to St. Philip's College the following semester. After a couple of years at St. Philip's College, I moved to Austin, Tx. to attend Huston-Tillotson College, now known as Huston-Tillotson University. While earning my B.A. degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science, I also was a member of the Lady Rams Basketball Team for two years.

Family… I am the mother of 5 wonderful children, 4 sons and 1 daughter. I have a 30 year old (working on his PHD), a 23 year old (attended Boise State on a football scholarship, a 22 year old (attended Little Priest Tribal College on a basketball scholarship, a 19 year old (now at Angelina JUCO on a basketball scholarship), and a 17 year old ( Senior at Clemens HS). I was married for 17 years, now a widow of 7 years.

Teaching…  This year marks my 21st year in education. I began in the Austin area as a substitute in Life-Skills at an elementary school, where I returned the following school year as a Teacher's Assistant. While working as a TA, I earned my Teacher Certification through iTEACH Alternative Certification Program. Once I earned my certification, I would spend the next 18 years in the following roles: Math teacher (4th thru 8th grade), RTI to Pre-AP, MS Athletics coach, 504 Coordinator, LPAC Coordinator, and Testing Coordinator. I then came upon a crossroad where I took a little break. The break was short-lived! I quickly found myself subbing in a few schools here in JISD.  While here at 野花社区视频 Middle School, I rediscovered the joy of teaching. So, here I was last school year, teaching the subject I love, Math. This year, however, I am super excited about my new role!!! I will be working with both students and teachers as an Academic Coach. I am looking forward to a year of limitless growth and possibilities.
