Ms. Melanie Garza

Hello and welcome to the pride at Escondido Elementary! My name is Ms. Melanie Garza I am very excited to be starting my first year teaching with 野花社区视频 ISD. I am not completely new to the public school system as I was a paraprofessional for NEISD for 3 1/2 half years then switched gears slightly and became a behavior therapist as well as being promoted to a clinic manager for 2 Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) clinics here in San Antonio. During my time as a behavior therapist, I attended Western Governors University and completed my Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am currently pursing my Masters degree again with WGU in Curriculum and Instruction.

A little bit about me: I graduated from Madison High school in 2009 and attended St. Philip's College to complete my basic courses. I took a small break from school and grew my family. I have been happily married to my husband for 13 years and we have four beautiful children- one girl and three boys. Our family doesn't stop there! My husband also has 3 children whom are amazing big sisters and daughters! So, in total I have 7 children and I love our crazy, ginormous family!

I have always dreamed of being a teacher since I was old enough to pretend play using my stuffed animals as my "students". And now that dream, despite a few detours, had finally come true. I am thrilled to welcome you and your student and cannot express my overwhelming excitement to be part of their educational journey exploring English Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies. I am commited to fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

I look foward to getting to know each one of my student's and their families to make this year a remarkable one filled with learning, laughter, and lasting memories.
