Welcome to Kindergarten!! My name is Dakota Scott-Villanueva, and I am thrilled to begin my 2nd year of teaching at Park Village Blended Learning Academy!

I was born in California but raised here in San Antonio. I have worked with children (ages 3-17) since 2015 in various capacities. My most recent experience was for 2 1/2 years working with children's mental health alongside Child Protective Services. I received my BSW from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2019 and received my MSW from UT-Arlington in 2020. I have worn many hats and have medical, firefighting and law enforcement experience. I am an active licensed foster parent and have a 17-year-old adopted son.

Working with children is my passion and drive. I enjoy assisting, advocating and supporting children and families to watch progress and growth occur. Teaching is more than just about curriculum. Teaching is about developing positive relationships, being a positive role model and being a catalyst for positive change in our communities. We are all unique and learn at different paces. I will meet your student at what educational level they are at. I will ensure I do my best to also meet their social and emotional needs.
