Career and Technical Education awarded $254,847 from Texas Workforce Commission

野花社区视频 ISD CTE is celebrating after being awarded a $254,847 Regional Jobs & Education for Texans Grant by the Texas Workforce Commission! The grant will be used for equipment for Advanced Manufacturing and Machinery Mechanics, with an emphasis on Robotic Engineering.

Approximately 150 students will go through programs impacted by these grant funds during the grant period of one year. Students in these programs will be able to graduate with three different TEA Industry Based Certifications with opportunities for internships and continuing education at Northeast Lakeview College in the Texas A&M Engineer Program.

JISD Director of Career and Technical Education Dr. Michaela Steele accepted the grant on behalf of the 野花社区视频.

“The equipment purchased with this grant will help our students build skills in concept development, 3D design, production, and programming of robotics equipment,” Steele said.

The Texas Workforce Commission grant helps JISD provide learning experiences and skills students need to be successful after high school, whether they enter the workforce immediately or continue their education.

“We talk a lot about high wage, high skill, and high demand and our goal at 野花社区视频 is to make sure our students are college and career ready when they leave us. We want to make sure when students walk out of our doors for that last time, they have viable employment opportunities that will sustain them for the rest of their lives,” Steele said.

Thank you to the Texas Workforce Commission for investing in the success of 野花社区视频 ISD students.
