I was born in Dallas,Texas and moved to Austin to complete my college degree.

Education is my second professional career choice (24 years this year) after working in banking data processing for 15 years. I chose education because I read somewhere that "Teachers touch the Future"; and there has never been a truer statement, for EVERYONE  has had a Teacher. (Yes, I capitalize the title because the position has been underappreciated for centuries in this country.)

I met my husband in Austin and we've been married for 39 years- November 2023.

We have two daughters. Our eldest is an elementary school principal, who made us grandparents of two exceptional granddaughters. Our youngest daughter has completed 8 years of active duty in the Navy, and is pursuing her law degree.

I retired for two years, but returned to the classroom because, for me, retirement was not the challenge I had come to love for 20+ years!

I was employed at Austin ISD for 21 years, where I began as a paraprofessional and served in that capacity for 6 weeks before my then principal secured for me an emergency certificate as a classroom teacher--the rest is Herstory!

野花社区视频 ISD became my new 野花社区视频 in 2022, when 野花社区视频Day hired me as a permanent Sub, then as a classroom Teacher at our DAEP.

I am still a DAEP Teacher; only now, my classroom is located at Coronado Village ES, where I've been accepted as part of la familia! Go TOROS!
