Hi! My name is Mr. Dunn and I am in my 21st year teaching at Hopkins Elementary.  I hope to inspire your child with wonder about the world around them and to learn to love books!

After moving to San Anotnio in 1977 from Austin, I graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1992.  In 1998, I decided to return to school to finish my degree and went into teaching after following a childhood dream that I this is what I was meant to do.  I received my bachelors degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2001.  I found my home at Hopkins Elementary in 2001 as a fourth grade teacher, moving to fifth grade in 2006.  This year I will begin my 21st year at the only campus I have ever worked for.

I hope to foster a love of reading in your child that will transform them into lifetime lovers of learning.  At the same time, I hope to instill a curiosity about the world of science and an interest in our nation's history.  Let's have a wonderful year!
