Hopkins Loves our School Lunch Heroes!

Our Hopkins Nutritional Team loved all of the love you showered them with this Cafeteria Week!  Thank you to all of the faculty and staff who contributed.  Your generosity is amazing!

National School Lunch Week is here, October 11-15. This week, we recognize the National School Lunch Program's integral role in contributing to student health!

NSLW was created in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy. His goal was to recognize the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life. NSLW projects the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life onto a national stage. With school meals FREE for students in SY 2021-22 due to the pandemic, it’s a great time for students to give school lunch a try! Children receiving school lunches consume fewer empty calories and more milk, fruit, vegetables and fiber than their peers. School lunch participation is associated with a lower body mass index (BMI). School lunches are healthier than typical packed lunches.
