Welcome! I currently teach AP English III: Language & Composition and dual credit English 1301, 1302, 2322, & 2323 here at Wagner High School. We are partnered with St. Philip's College to give our students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. This allows students to get the most out of their academic high school experience and get ahead in their collegiate studies. I have been teaching English for eighteen years, and this is my eleventh year at Wagner HS. I have taught many levels of high school English, but I have the most experience with Advanced Placement and Dual Credit English courses. I am from Texas, born and raised. I received my Bachelor's degree in English with a secondary teaching certificate and my Master's in Literature from Texas State University. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on literacy studies at the University of Texas-Arlington. I have three daughters and two identical twin grandsons. I have led eight Education First Tours every summer to many European destinations. I enjoy helping my students achieve their academic goals and preparing them to be successful in college after high school.
